AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $133,080 WITHIN COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT FUND #212 FOR DISTRIBUTION PURSUANT TO FEDERAL
SHELTER PLUS CARE GRANT PROGRAM
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
In order to provide housing and services to seriously physically and mentally ill individuals
within our community, the City of South Bend has received funds from the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development's Shelter Plus Care Grant program for the delivery of such services
through various subgrantees. The funds appropriated in this ordinance will aid in defraying the costs
of housing and provide services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOiITH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I. The sum of $133,080 is appropriated and set aside within Community &
Economic Development Fund (#212) to be allocated as follows:
Madison Center $89,644
Aids Ministries/Aids Assist $43,416
Section II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
