AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CREATING THE ZOO
DIVISION CLASSIFICATION WITHIN THE PARK MAINTENANCE.
FUND AND APPROPRIATING MONIES FROM THE PARK
MAINTENANCE DIVISION TO THE ZOO DIVISION
WITHIN THE PARK MAINTENANCE FUND OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH. BEND, INDIANA FOR THE. YEAR. 1993.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The Common Council of the City of South. Bend has determined it to
be in the best interest of the City of South Bend and to be in the
best interest of the City's Park Department to establish within the.
Park Maintenance Fund a separate division for budgetary purposes
known as the Zoo Division and to transfer to the various accounts
within that department various funds currently on deposit with the
Park Maintenance Division within that fund.. The creation and funding
of this new. Zoo Division will allow for a more orderly accounting of
zoo-related expenditures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
Section I . That the Zoo Division is created as a new and
separate division classification within the Park Maintenance. Fund.
Section II. That the following accounts be adjusted as described.
below:

Zoo Division Personal Services $446,184.96

Section, III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor.

I am attaching for filing an ordinance to establish within the.
Park Maintenance Fund a separate depa.L,nent known as the Zoo
Department and to transfer to the various accounts within that
department various funds currently on deposit with the Park.
Maintenance Department within that fund. The creation and funding of
this new Zoo Department will allow for a more orderly accounting of
zoo-related expenditures.
