SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
May 19, 2020, 10:00 AM

Members present: Brad Rohrscheib Toy Villa, Jonathan Jones, Gerard Ellis
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 10:04 AM by President Rohrscheib.
2. Approval of minutes
Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Villa the minutes from the previous
meeting May 5th was approved unanimously
3. Approval of Special Event Permits
a. Bacon Around the Bend – August 29th
Using same route 5k as last year. No issues with this event in past. There are
construction concerns about this event. Toy is going to speak to contractors on
scheduled construction to see if we need to modify the route slightly. Otherwise the
route is to start at the Family Justice Center on Niles and end at Corby’s Irish Pub on
LaSalle. The route is predominantly on East Race Bank Trail.
Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Jones the permit was approved
unanimously
4. Other Business –
a. We + You Parade changes (Start/Finish) & Timing
Decided to keep the same route as St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Modifying times from
AM to PM. Staging to take place 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Race starts at 5:00 PM and end
at 6:00 PM. Allowing 30 mins to disband and clean up.

2. Adjournment
With no additional business, Rohrscheib motioned for adjournment and Villa
seconded. The meeting ended at 10:27 AM.
