PURPOSE OF REQUEST:
This request is for $550,000 for improvements to the Colfax Lift Station. This is the construction
portion of a previous RDC-funded project: the East Bank Sewer Analysis.
SPECIFICS:
In 2018 the Redevelopment Commission funded a study for the sewer system serving the East
Bank area. The equipment in the lift station, located on the south side of Colfax Avenue at the
intersection with Sycamore Street, was reaching the end of its life cycle, and development in
the area, namely 320 at the Cascade and Commerce Center, warranted an in-depth study of the
current and future needs of the area as it expanded.
A local consultant performed the work and used the results of the study to produce
construction documents which will allow the City to replace the aging infrastructure with more
efficient, reliable equipment which will serve the area for the next several decades, ensuring
that the East Bank can continue to develop and better serve the needs of area residents.
