AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
APPROPRIATING $ 5000.00
EMSCIF FUND (FUND #288 )

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The City of South Bend through its Fire Department operates a Public
Education Department through the Fire Prevention Bureau. The purpose of this
Department is to provide fire safety for children and citizens of the City of South
Bend.
To operate at full efficiency and best protect the public, the Hazardous
Materials Response Team needs to purchase new equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered
set apart from and within the EMSCIF (Fund #288) for Officer's
Training and purchase of new equipment.

Dear Ms. White:
Please find attached for filing an ordinance requesting an appropriation for $5000.00
within the Emergency Medical Services Capital Improvement Fund (288).
During 2003 the South Bend Fire Department received a $5,000.00 donation from
State Farm to promote fire safety. We have identified equipment and training aids to
be used in our Fire Safety Program.
Funds are available and the appropriation is for the following equipment and training
alds (see attached). Assistant Fire Chief Howard Buchanon will be the presenter of this
ordinance.
If you have any questions, I will be available to answer them.
