Lafayette Blvd, South Bend, IN 46601 Members present: Brad Rohrscheib Toy Villa, Jonathan Jones, Gerard Ellis 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 9:47 AM by President Rohrscheib. 2. Approval of minutes Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Ellis the minutes from the previous meeting April 7th was approved unanimously 3. Approval of Special Event Permits a. Wine Run 5K- July 12th This is a new event and participants are expected to be around 250. Route starts and ends at Iron Hand on Northside. The course uses the east bank trail and sidewalk to avoid street closures. Due to construction on Northside (replacement of sidewalks) The race will have to start in street until everyone crosses over to get on the east bank trail. The course continues south and turns around at Ironwood. No concerns with this event. Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Villa the permit was approved unanimously b. Stars and Stripes Forever Ride – June 6th This ride has happened in years past with no issues. Ride will be escorted by Police Dept with the help of South Bend, County and maybe Mishawaka. No concerns regarding this ride. Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Jones the permit was approved unanimously Page | 2 c. Kernan’s Heroes Ride – July 11th This ride has happened in years past with no issues. Ride will be escorted by Police Dept with the help of South Bend, County and maybe Mishawaka. No concerns regarding this ride. Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Jones the permit was approved unanimously 4. Other Business – Jones mentioned that either Friday, May 1st or May 8th that Parks Dept. may be hosting a drive-in movie event at the Century Center. No closures necessary but was requesting a few officers to be present at the event for added security. 1. Privilege of the Floor – None 2. Adjournment With no additional business, Rohrscheib motioned for adjournment and Villa seconded. The meeting ended at 10:04 AM.
