Boyles, PE, City Engineer SUBJECT:Self-Performance of 2020City Paving Projects DATE: April 22, 2020 I am presenting the 2020Internal Paving Schedule for work to be self- internal work forces. The attached document provides details on 26 separate paving projects anticipated to be completed by the end of 2020as part of the annual paving program. The document indicates which streets will be milled and paved, estimated material costs, estimated equipment costs, and estimated cost of labor for an overall estimated project cost. The estimated project costs range from approximately $4,000to $116,700. According to IC 36-1-12-3, the City is not required to bid public works projects that it can self- perform if the estimated cost is less than $250,000 including the cost of materials. However, if the cost of a project is greater than $100,000, the Board of Public Works must provide notice of the intent to self- perform this work. Additionally, the City must already have the human resources on staff and capability to perform the work. Two(2) of the 26 projects schedule for 2020paving has an estimated cost of more than $100,000. Angela Boulevard from Lafayette Boulevard to Northshore Driveis estimated to be $113,559.83. Prast Street from Ardmore Trail to Bendix Driveis estimated to be $116,749.00.
