Keep in the packaging of origin, shrink-wrapped. Best before: 2 years after production date. Sequestration Buffering Deflocculation Acid Metal Cleaners: Acid metal cleaners are generally used in the removal of mill scale, rust, and other metallic oxides or to remove traces of alkaline residues. SAPP is effective in dry cleaner formulations where mild, "controlled" acidity is advantageous and cleaning requirements are less demanding. Potable Water Treatment: Prayon's sodium acid pyrophosphate conforms to the requirements of NSF/ANSI Standard 60. Used for corrosion & scale control and sequestering. Maximum use level 12 mg/L. Iron Phosphatizing: SAPP is commonly used in clean er/phosphatizing formulations to reduce the formation of sludge. Control of sludge effectively extends the life of a phosphatizing bath. Drilling Muds: In oil well operations, SAPP is used to treat water -based drilling muds to produce high -density fluids with specific flow properties. Dairy Cleaners: Dry formulated products containing SAPP provide mildly acidic solutions, which are useful in dairy operations to remove "milkstone." Pigment Dispersant: Condensed phosphate deflocculants are used in water -base paints to aid in the wetting and even dispersion of pigments in formulating the final product.
