AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
APPROPRIATING $5,345.00 FROM THE
EAST BANK TRAIL FUND (FUND NO. 402)
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The East Bank Trail Fund (Fund No. 402) was established for
the purpose of funding the maintenance and repair of the East
Bank Trail in the City of South Bend. Erosion of a portion of
the Trail near Niles Avenue and Corby Boulevard requires the
construction of a retaining wall system at that area and other
measures designed to prevent further erosion. The Common Council
has determined it is in the best interest of the City of South
Bend to appropriate sufficient funds from the East Bank Trail
Fund to allow these repairs to be made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. The following sum of money is hereby
appropriated and ordered set apart from and within the East Bank
Trail Fund (Fund No. 402) for erosion control repairs to the East
Bank Trail near Niles Avenue and Corby Boulevard:

Section II. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
approved by the Mayor.

I am attaching for filing an ordinance appropriating
$5,345.00 from the East Bank Trail Fund. The funds are requested
to allow for erosion control and repairs to be made to that
portion of the Trail near Corby Boulevard and Niles Avenue. Your
favorable recommendation is requested.
