Agenda: UPDATE: Home Demolitions
Committeemember Henry Davis Jr. spoke about two (2) specific properties in South Bend that
experienced severe fire and structural damage. He spoke of the two (2) properties still being in
existence today despite the damage that has been done to both, and the hazards that they pose to
neighborhood children. He spoke about the need to have properties such as these scheduled for
demolition as soon as possible as opposed to the current process and wait time that is involved
with that process.
Committee Chair Karen L. White turned the meeting to the Committee and Councilmembers for
any questions or comments.
Committeemembers and Councilmembers made general comments regarding the subject matter.
Kacey Gergely, Chief of Staff for the Mayor's Office gave demolition updates for each of the
properties.
