SWEARINh -IN OF COMMISSIONERS BY THE CITY CLERK, MRS. IRENE GAMMON Mrs. Ir ne Gammon, City Clerk, administered the oath of office to the following Commissioners: Ms. Paula N. Auburn, Messrs. F. Jay Nimtz, Lloyd E. Robinson, Sr., A. Peter Donalds n, and Roman A. Piasecki. Mr. Rom�n Piasecki was welcomed as the newly - appointed Commis- sioner. IRENE GAMMON Ms. Paul Auburn was not able to remain for the rest of the meet'ng and asked to be excused. 3. ELECTIONIOF OFFICE Mr. Kevi Butler, Legal Counsel for the Commission, con- ducted t e election of officers. PRESIDEN Mr. Robinson nominated 111r. F. Jay Nimtz to serve as Pre MR. F. JAY NIMTZ WAS sident of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. The ELECTED PRESIDENT motion was seconded by Mr. Donaldson and unanimously carried. There being no further nominations, and the vote being unanimous, Mr. Nimtz was elected President of the Comm ssion for 1982. VICE - PRESIDENT Mr. Donaldson nominated Mr. Lloyd E. Robinson to serve MR. LLOYD E. ROBINSON, SR., as Vice-President of the South Bend Redevelopment Commis- WAS ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT sion. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nimtz and unanimously carried. There being no further nominations, and the vote being unanimous, Mr. Robinson was elected Vice- President of the Commission for 1982. SECRET Mr. Nimtz nominated Mr. A. Peter Donaldson to serve as MR'. A. PETER DONALDSON WAS Secretary of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. ELECTED SECRETARY The motion was seconded by Mr. Robinson and unanimously carried. There being no further nominations, and the vote being unanimous, Mr. Donaldson was elected Secretary of the Commission for 1982. ASSISTANT SECRETARY Mr. Nimt2 nominated Ms. Paula N. Auburn to serve as Assis- MS. PAULA N. AUBURN WAS tant Secretary of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. ELECTED ASSISTANT SECRETARY The raoti n was seconded by.Mr. Robinson and unanimously carried. There being no further nominations, and the vote being unanimous, Ms. Auburn was elected Assistant Secretary of the C mmission for 1982. 2 South Bend Redevelopment Commission Annual Organ zationa1 le.eting- January 4, 1982 4. APPOINTMENT OF LEGAL COUNSEL AND STAFF Mr. Nimtz explained that in light of the Home Rule provi- sion con erning City Government, the City Attorney's office will be doing the major portion of Penal work. ):• for the edevelopment Commission, and Mr. Butler wi11 serve as Legal Counsel for the Commission and be present at all meetings. The Commission will enter into a contract with Mr. Butl r,for performance of various duties,at a later date. Upon motion made by Mr. Robinson, seconded by Mr. Donald- son and nanimously carried, the following staff members were rea pointed for 1982: Executive Director .................Patrick M. Carey Mayor Pa ent welcomed Mr. Piasecki as the new member of the C mmission and thanked each of the Commissioners for acce ting reappointment to the Commission. Councilman Szymkowiak extended his appreciation to Mr. Piasecki for accepting the Council's appointment to the Commission and congratulated the other members on their reappointment, thanking _them-for their fine work in past years. Councilm n Voorde expressed his happiness in Mr. Piasecki's appointor nt to the Commission. 5.
