Bids wore opened for the South Bend I Avenue Trunk Sewer, as there was only one bid received and that was far above the Engineers estimate the Board therefore find it their pleasure to reject all bids. The Board having under consideration the matter of securing bids for the South Bend avenue Trunk Sewer under Improvement Resolution No. 181. it is hereby ordered that bids shall be received by' this board at its office in the City Hall on May 27 at 10, A. M. and it is furthur ordered that notice of the receivi±Lg -of, said bids shall be ' pui blishedn the South Bend Daily Tribune and the South Bend Daily Times on the lith day of May and on the 18th day of May 1904. 4. In the matter of the East Madison Street Trunk Sewer the contract was awarded to Hoban & Roach. Pre sidt Tuesday May lOth2 1904. The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. Mr. McInerny absent. IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 183. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, That an improvement be made of the kind size, -location and terminal points as follows; The gradeing, construction of cement sidewalks on Leland avenue from. the north end of the present brick pavement on Leland avenue to Hudson avenue. Said improvement shall be known and designated as the Leland avenue Grade, Curb & Walk and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith.. Notice of this resolution and proposals for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published on the 14th day of May and on the 21 day of May 1904 in h the South Bend Daily Tribune and the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will give a hearing on this resolution at. its office in the City Hall on the 24th' day of May 1904,a at 7:15 p. m. and will receive bids up to 10 A. M. on the 27th clay of May 1904. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Incliana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: The construction of cnrnent walks on Notre Dame street from Jefferson street to Division St. Said improvement shall be known anq�,d_osignated as the Notre Dame Street sidewalks and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution and proposals for bids d for the above work shall be published on the 14th day of May and on the 21 day of May 1904 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the South Bend Daily Times. "- Resolved that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six con- secutive daysin the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on such assessment rolls at -its office in the City Hall on the 31st day of May, 1904, at 7:15 P. M. Resolved. further that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and approved and- the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the lath day of May 1904, in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing upon the acceptance of such work at its office in -the City Hall on May 31st, 1904, at 7:15 P. IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 187. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, sizem location and terminal points as follows; A Local Sewer in and along Michigan avenue from College Street to Johnson street The sewer shall consist of 15 inch vitrified pipe , necessary street inlets and house corrections carried to the curb lines. Said improvement shall be known as Michigan Anenue Pipe Sewer and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution and. proposals for bids of the above work shall be published on the 18th day of May and on the 25th day of May 1904, in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will receive bids up to 10 A. M. on the 1st day of June, 1904. Adopted this 112th, day of May 1904. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 188. Resolved by the Buard of Pub-1 is Worj;> o_ __e City u� ;youth Lend, indiana:That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location terminal points as follows. A Pipe Sewer in and along north Lafayette street from near Navarre street to the St. JoSepii River. The Sewer shall be of 15 inch pipe from the river to Bartlett street, and 12 inch pipe from Bartlett street to South end of sewer. At the river two lengths of 16 inch past iron pipe shall be used and extended into the river so that the last length shall be entirely submerged at low water. The castiron pipe shall be loaded and braced by four two inch iron bars six feet long driven into the bed of the river. Four bars to each pipe. Said improvement shall be known and designated as the North La - Fayette street pipe sewer and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifi- cations prepared by the City Civil Engineer$ filed herewith. Notice of this resolution and proposals for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published on the 18th day of May and on the 25th day of May 1904, in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will give a hearing; on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 31 st day of May 1904, at M5i p. m. and will r4c6ive bids up to 10 a. m. on the lst day of June 1904. BOARD 0__Q` PUBLIC WORKS. 764 IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 189 Resolved by the, Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: A Pipe sewer in and along Keasy street from Michigan street to alley west of Carroll street. The sewer shall consist of a line of 12 inch vitrified pipe between said terminal points, street inlets as shown on plans, and house connections carried to the curb line. Especila care must be used in backfilling and replacing the brick taken up in Michigan street brick pavement. Said improvement shall be know and designated as the Keasey Street Pipe Seger and shall ue constructed according t0 the plans and, a peci fications prepard by the City CCivil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution and proposals for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published on the 18th_ day of "Lay and on the 25th day of May, 1904 in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune. The Engineer filed his estimated costs of the improvements as follows; - Leland avenue ................. $31167.00 N. Michigan street............ 1,140.00 Notre Dame street ............. 559.00 in the above matter no remonstrances appeardd and no remonstrances were filed The Board find in each and,, -every ease in the said improvements that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of the improvement and that said Declaratory resolution are hereby in all things ratified , confirmed and approved. The Board therefore find in each and every case in the said improvements that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of the improvement and that said Declaratory resolutions are hereby in all thing s ratified and confirmed.
