AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ONE MILLION DOLLARS
($1,000,000) FROM THE CASH: RESERVES. OF THE
GENERAL FUND. OF THE CIVIL CITY. OF SOUTH:. BENS-,
INDIANA. FOR THE PURPOSE- OF FUNDING A. PROGRAM
OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN: THE.
CITY OF SOUTH' S=
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The government of the City of South Bend, in partnership
with the City' s private sector and residents, is. committed to the
goal of improving the. "quality of life" in the City, its
neighborhoods, and for its residents. As part of this commitment
to a comprehensive community development and improvement program,
the City of South. Bend has committed One Million Dollars
( $1,000,000) from the General. Fund' s cash reserves to fund public.
improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. The sum of One Million. Dollars ( $1,000,000)
shall be and hereby is appropriated for use in 1394 from the
General Fund' s cash reserves, to Account No. 101-0401-415-42.07,
and allocated for the indicated projects:
Project Amount
1. Neighborhood Public Works $650,000. 00
2. Neighborhood Parks $100,000.00
3. Partnership Centers $ 50,000.00
4. NBD Loan Program, Non-CDBG $ 75,000.00
5. Community Planning - $ 25,000.00
Special Projects
6. Youth/Police Recreation $ 50,000.00
7 . Good Neighborhood Special $ 50,000.00

Section II. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
approval by the Mayor. ,

of Public Improvements within the City
Dear Mrs . Puzzello:
I am attaching for filing an Ordinance Appropriating
One Million Dollars from the cash reserves of the General Fund.
It is our desire that these funds be appropriated and made
available to fund public works projects, park improvements,
Partnership Center activities and related programs as a part of
the City' s Good Neighbor - Good Neighborhood initiative for 1994 .
