Resolved by the Hoard of Public Works, that the entire work under the contract
for the construction of the East Colfax Avenue sewer from the upper end of the Coquillard
school sewer to the center of Eddy street be accepted and approved and the final estimate
allowed. Ordered that notice of this resolution be published in the South Bend Daily
Tribune and in the South Bend Daily Times or_ the 4th day of April,1901, stating that on
the 16th day of April, 19019 this board will at its office in the City Hall at 7:15P.X,
hear objections from any person feeling himself aggrieved or injured by the acceptance
of such work or by such estimate.
VACATION RESOLUTION NO.l.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, that it Is
desirable to vacate the following:
That portion of St. Joseph street bounded on the north by the south line of
East Marion street and on the south by the St. Joseph River. Also that portion of Marion
street towit; The triangular parcel of the east end bounded on.the west by a line at
right angles to the north side of said street and drawn from the south east -.,corner of lot
119 south to lot 11$.That the following property will be_benefically affected by such
vacation, Lots 116," 117;20130, 1312 132, the property of Mary Barrett. Lots 133, 134, and
135, the property of Luc`3us Hubbard. No property will be injuriusly affected. Allsaid
lots and streets are in the Original Plat of. the Town now the City of South Bend Indiana.
Ordered that notice of this resolution be published once each week for two consecutive
weeks in the South Bend Daily Tribune and th.-t persons interested or affected:by the
proposed vacation be given a hearing on the 23rd,day of April'�Iat 7:15 P.M,
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend Indiana,
That bids be called for and contractor contracts let for the cleaning and sweeping of all
creosoted block,brick and asphalt pavements in the streets and alleys of said City.
Such work shall be done in accordance with tale plans and specifications now on file
in the office of this board. Ordered that notice of sealed proposals for above work
be published in the South Bend Daily Tribune and in the South Bend Daily Times on the
4th day of April,1901.

Resolved by the Boe.,rd of Publie Works, that after said Board has advertised bids
for the improvement of any street, either by grading, curbing, paving or laying sidewalks
no property owner shall contract for the execution of such improvement or any part thereof
without first obtaining permission of said Board. The Board will instruct the CityAttorney
to inforce the City ordinances against property owners who disregard thisorder. Property
owners who disregard: this order shall have no rebate for work done under general contracts
let by,the board.
Engineer instructed to correct the specifications for grading Eddy street so as
to include the following; Grading Forth Eddy street from North line of East Washington
street to the southline of ea._t dater street, also construction of cement curbing on both
sides of said street and cement sidewalks on the west side of said street from the north
line of East Washington street to the south line of East Water street. Publication of
proposals for bids ordered in South Bend Daily Tribune and Times on April 3rd and April
loth, 1901.

Resolved by the board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That
an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: The
grading of Eddy s$ree s and the construction of cement curbs on both sides and of cement
sidewalks on the west side from the north line of east Washington street to the south line
of east Water street. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "Eddy Street".and
shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil
Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution and; -proposals for bids for the execution
of the above work shall1be published on the 3 day of April and on the 10 day of April 1901.,
in the South Bend Daily Tribune and in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will give a.
hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 16 day of April 1901, at
715 P. M. and will receive bids up to 10 A. M. on the 21 day of April 1901..

Proposals for bids for the Marrietta street cement sidewalks and cement curb
improvement ordered advertised in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the South Bead Daily
Times on the 8th day of April and on the 15th day of APril, 1901.
Ordered by the Board of Public Works that hereafter when a permam.ent improvement
io ordered made, there shall be in the buisness district a water tap and a sewer tap for
every 33 feet of frontage on each side of the street, and in the residence district there
shall be a water tap and a sewer tap for each lot having a40 foot frontage or less. Lots
of more t1-an 40 foot frontage in the residence district shall have a water tap and a sewer
tap for each 40 feet. Any variation from this rule must be upon petition to Board of PUbli3O
Works for permission.
