Assistant City Engineer SUBJECT: Agenda Request — Amendment to Professional Services Agreement A&Z Engineering, LLC DATE: February 3, 2020 M The Division of Engineering and requests the Board of Public Works approval of Amendment No. 2 to a Professional Services Agreement with A&Z Engineering, LLC to provide additional Professional Engineering services for the design of a water main extension to service the South Bend Chocolate Company site on US 20. Background The City of South Bend is engaged in a Water and Sewer Agreement with South Bend Chocolate Company to supply water and sanitary sewer utility extensions to recently annexed land on US 20 between Olive Road and the US 20 / US 31 Interchange. Sanitary sewer was constructed in 2019. A&Z Engineering will provide water main routing alternatives assessment and detailed design plans and specifications. Routing for the water main is being considered underneath US 20 near Olive Road, and alternately, a second route is being considered from Pine Road. The funding source for this contract is being reviewed. Funding is anticipated out of the TIF-River West — Airport (324-1050-460-31-02) or Other Accounts to be determined by the Department of Community Investment and Public Works.
