This is an annual meeting where the South Bend Common Council convenes as a local Board of Finance. Council Informal Meeting Room 4th Floor County-City Building 227 W. Reviewing and proposing upgrades to computer systems and web sites, developing availability and access to GIS data and related technologies are just some of its many activities. This ordinance amends Chapter 6 of the South Bend Municipal Code to establish a procedure to address conflicts of interest that prevent the issuance of permits by Building Department officials. Ind. Code § 36-1-27-4 now requires units of government to establish local procedures for reporting a conflict of interest that prevents a building commissioner, building code official or building inspector from issuing a permit, and for appointing a qualified temporary replacement in the case of a conflict of interest. ln accordance with state law, this ordinance provides that conflicts ofinterest be reported to the City's Law Department and authorizes the City's Corporation Counsel or a duly-authorized member of the City's Law Department to appoint a qualified temporary replacement to conduct the permitting process in the case of a conflict of interest.
