AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $369,453 WITHIN FUND 212 FOR THE
PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR
PROGRAM YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1995.
Statement of Purpose and Intent:
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of community
resources, the Department of Community and Economic Development has
entered into contracts to provide staff and administrative support for various
not-for-profit organizations and programs. These revenues are the basis for the
administrative budget and need to be appropriated for that use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $369,453.00 is hereby appropriated to Fund 212
for Program Year 1995, beginning January 1, 1995.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

The attached bill for your consideration and approval will appropriate $369,453.00 in 1995 projected
income to the Department of Community and Economic Development from staff support contracts.
These anticipated resources to the Department's administrative budget were presented to the Council
in late August:
Business Development Corporation staff contract $95,000
Urban Enterprise Assn. staff contract 85,500
Neighborhood Business Development Corp staff contract 15,500
Tax Abatement Fees 9,900
Housing Development Corp staff contract 47,000
Community Homebuyers Corp staff contract 25,000
BOH Potential staff contract 5,000
Mishawaka staff contract 5,000
Corporation for Entrepreneurial Development staff contract 22,342
Industrial Revolving Fund staff contract 49,111
HOME Admin support 10 000
$369,453
As we discussed at our budget meetings this summer, this action will complete the appropriation of
