AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING$210,700.00
FROM AND AMONG THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND
FOR THE NIMTZ PARKWAY PHASE III AND
STREET MAINTENENCE AND REPAIR PROJECTS
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to meet existing and proposed traffic demands in a safe and efficient manner, it is
necessary to design and construct certain improvements within the City. These improvement projects are
Project# 9446 - Nimtz Parkway Phase III, for road widening and intersection improvements and
Project# 9401 - Street Maintenance and Repairs, for street improvements.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND,INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
Section I:The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart from the Local
Road and Street Fund for the projects in the amount set forth below:

DECREASE THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNT:
9002 Ironwood-Brookmede to Ireland $ 160,700.00
Total Decrease $ 160,700.00
INCREASE THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNTS:
9446 Nimtz Parkway Phase III $ 160,700.00
9401 Street Maintenance and Repair 50,000.00
Total Increase $ 210,700.00
Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear Councilmen:
The Department of Public Works is requesting your favorable consideration of the attached
ordinance appropriating funds from the Local Road and Street Fund to the Nimtz Parkway Phase III Project
and the Street Maintenance and Repair Project.
Unused funds from the Ironwood Widening Project,in the amount of$160,700.00,need to be
transferred to the Nimtz Parkway Phase III Project to be used for road widening and intersection
improvements. In addition,$50,000.00 needs to be appropriated for the Street Maintenance and Repair
Project to be used for street improvements.
