Notes:
• Ribbon driveway
• Garage off alley, door is overgrown
and it is clearly not used for parking
vehicles.
• Parking allowed on both sides of
Altgeld Street
• Access to front door involves steps.
• Because the ribbon driveway
provides only 2 feet width of paved
surface which is intended for the
vehicle to rest on, there is no paved
surface for Ms. Harris to walk on to
access her home from the driveway.
Considering her health problems,
this is inadequate accessibility.

On November 21, 2019, the Division of Engineering received a phone call from Ms. Becky
Medich, HomeWorks Management Corporation Leasing Manager, regarding the residential
handicap parking signs located at 226 Altgeld Street. Ms. Medich informed the Division of
Engineering the original owner (Ms. Rosemary Harris) is no longer residing at the house and the
new homeowners have no need for the parking spot. The Division of Engineering recommends
the removal of the sign.
