AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $37,000 RECEIVED FROM THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR ENTERPRISE COMMUNITY GEOGRAPHIC AREA PLANNING ACTIVITIES FOR THE PROGRAM YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1995. Statement of Purpose and Intent: In order to support planning activities for the Enterprise community geographic area, the Department of Community & Economic Development applied for, and was granted a planning grant. This ordinance will appropriate the use of those funds within the administrative budget of the Division of Planning & Neighborhood Development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. The sum of $37,000 is hereby appropriated to Fund 212 for Program Year 1995, beginning January 1, 1995. SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. Me ' er e'-e Common Council 9. The funds are to be used to support staff costs for planning activities in the Enterprise Community geographic area (census tracts 4,5,6,18,19,20,21,23). Anticipated activities are: inventory of buildings and infrastructure (including property, quality, and condition); surveys of current and potential business owners; marketing plans for specific buildings; utility assessments; computer maps; coordination of training programs for area residents. It is hoped these actions will help to target economic development efforts to reduce unemployment and increase the incomes of area residents.
