This budget request is for the replacement of the former Salvation Army building's boiler. Over
the holidays this boiler system failed because of sediment buildup in its heat exchanger. The part
of the building heated by the boiler system contains the water supply for the City's Weather
Amnesty program, which is in a separate part of the building. It is critical the water supply for this
other part of the building be in service.
Staff requests approval of a budget in the amount of $55,000 for the replacement of the boiler
and related work to ensure the system is operational.
