SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
December 17, 2019, 10:00 AM
731 S. Lafayette Blvd, South Bend, IN 46601
Members present: Darwin Shipley, Jonathan Jones, Gerard Ellis
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 10:04 AM by Committee member Shipley.
2. Approval of minutes
Upon a motion by Shipley and seconded by Ellis the minutes from the previous meeting,
December 3rd was approved unanimously
3. Approval of Special Event Permits –
a. Annual Martin Luther King March – January 20th (2020)
Has had in past with no issues. March starts at the county city building down
Jefferson and ends at the Century Center. All participants stay on sidewalk and obey
traffic laws. Request to have PD there about 15 mins before event.
Upon a motion by Shipley and seconded by Ellis the permit was approved unanimously

2. Adjournment
With no additional business, Shipley motioned for adjournment and Ellis
seconded. The meeting ended at 10:12 AM.
