APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Richardson moved for the approval of the Minutes of the Trustees
Annual Meeting of December 2, 1974, as mailed, and waived the read-
ing of the Minutes. Motion was seconded by Mr. Kelly and unani-
mously carried.
LETTER OF RESIGNATION - MR. B. L. WADE, REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
This Special Meeting was called by President Morrison as a result
of the copy of letter he received from Mr. B. L. Wade, Redevelop-
ment Commissioner, addressed to Mr. F. Jay Nimtz, President of
the Redevelopment Commission, dated May 28, 1975, submitting his
resignation effective May 31, 1975.
President Morrison entertained a motion for a resolution commending
Mr. Wade for his service on the Board of Commissioners. The motion
for the resolution was made by Mr. Richardson, seconded by Mr.
Wertheimer and unanimously carried. Mr. Richardson volunteered to
write the resolution.
r. Wade's resignation was accepted, with regret.
IV. APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER
Several prospective appointees were discussed as a replacement for
Ir. B. L. Wade. It was stressed that we need someone on the Board
if Commissioners who will really be concerned, not just have an
interest in the downtown area. This met with concurrence by all
the Trustees.

POINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER (Cont'd
One of the recommendations for the replacement of Mr. Wade was
Mr. Robert J. Cira, made by President Morrison. He advised Mr.
Cira is a native of South Bend and a long -time businessman
operating the Cira's Super Markets, at 2904 South Michigan
Street, South Bend. Mr. Cira is a successful businessman, is
willing and anxious to serve as a Commissioner, and he is inter-
ested in the downtown area.
The decision was unanimous to nominate Mr. Cira. The motion was
made by Mr. Wertheimer that Mr. Robert J. Cira be appointed to
serve as a Redevelopment Commissioner to complete the term of
Mr. B. L. Wade. The motion was seconded by Mr. Richardson
and unanimously carried.
TRUSTEE RESIGNATION
Messrs. Edgar Wertheimer and William A. Welsheimer have both
previously expressed other appointments be made for their re-
placements on the Board of Trustees as they wish to resign,
but have volunteered to remain until a replacement has been
made.
Mr. Wertheimer advised, in accordance with Section 6 of the
By -Laws of the South Bend Redevelopment Board of Trustees, he
has continued to serve until an appointment is made. Due to
the delay in making an appointment, Mr. Wertheimer requested
his resignation be accepted as of this morning, effective at
the adjournment of this meeting. Mr. Wertheimer is to submit
his letter of resignation to The Honorable John W. Montgomery,
Judge of the Circuit Court, with a copy to Mr. Morrison, as
President of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Edgar Wertheimer was appointed by the Circuit Court Judge,
December 2, 1970, with a term of expiration of January 10, 1975.
By Indiana Statutes, the Trustees hold over after the expiration
of their terms until their respective successors have been duly
appointed and have qualified.
Mr. Werthetmer's resignation was accepted with regret.
Mr. William A. Welsheimer was appointed by the Common Council,
December 1, 1971, with a term of expiration of February 18,
1974. Mr. Roland A. Kelly was requested by the Chair to talk
to Mr. Roger Parent, President of the Common Council, for the
nomination of a replacement for Mr. Welsheimer. Mr. Kelly said
he would follow through on this request.
VI. (ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, motion was duly made
for adjournment at 9:38 a.m., by Mr. Richardson, sec d by Mr.
Kelly
