GAMMON Approved and signed by me V )1:01.1.1f t 19 95 ° '- Mayor ORDINANCE NO. g6oq--96 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $235,000 FROM EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND (FUND #288) FOR THE REHABILITATION OF EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION OF EXHAUST SYSTEMS STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT It has become necessary to defray expenses within the emergency medical service capital improvement budget with an appropriation of Two Hundred Thirty-five Thousand Dollars ($235, 000 . 00) from Emergency Medical Services Capital Improvement Fund (Fund #288) in order to fund the installation of exhaust sytems in all City fire stations to meet occupational safety standards and the refurbishing of Snorkel #1, Quint #3, Quint #7, and Engine #9 . The City has continued to generate increased revenue from the emergency medical services bureau to support the capital needs of both the Fire Department and its emergency medical services operations . This appropriation has been included in the department' s projections, as well as its five-year Capital Improvement plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: Section I . The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart from Emergency Medical Services Capital Improvement Fund (Fund #288) for the items set forth below: ACCOUNT NO. DESCRIPTION AMOUNT 288 . 0902 .422 .23-10 Equipment Repairs $ 35, 000 . 00 288 . 0902 .422 .39-89 Exhaust System $200, 000 .00 Installation $235, 000 . 00 Section II . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
