This ordinance appropriates these State grant funds of $146,000 for the purpose of purchasing $140,000 in Haz-Mat equipment which will allow the South Bend Haz-Mat team to be part of the state response team (Region 2). The balance of $6,000 will be used to purchase equipment to complete the interiors of the new Haz-Mat and Tac trailers. NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: Section I. The sum of $146,000 is appropriated and set aside within Haz-Mat Fund (#289) to purchase Haz-Mat equipment for the use and benefit of the Haz-Mat team and for the purchase of equipment to complete the interior of the new Haz-Mat and Tac trailers. Section II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor and publication as re uired bylaw. The amount of $140,000 is in the form of a grant from the State of Indiana through Homeland Securities. This money will be used to purchase Haz-mat equipment which will allow the Haz-mat team to be a part of the state response team (region 2). The remaining 6,000 will be used to purchase equipment to finish the insides of the new Haz-mat and Tac trailers.
