HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/10/1910 Board of Public Works Minutes6 6 1 Board met in regular session at 10 A.M, all members present. v Sewer and Water connections on Diamond Avenue and Brick Avenue approved and ordered to be -reported to the Common Council for ratification. /Hearing given on Assessment Roll and Final Estimate Bnr Asphalt Pavement on LaPorte Avenue from Oak Street to Michigan Avenue -under Improvement Resolution No. 599• No remonstratees appeared and no remonstrances were filed,the Board therefore find that the property assessed in said rolls filed 4,uneilOt}h.1910is benefited in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls,and the Board further find that the assessment roll@ filed on June 10 th. 1910 and the final estimate allowed July lst. 1910 should be and .the same are hereby in -all things ratified,confirmed and approved. H.'Defrees was awarded the contract for Tar filled Macadam on Hammond Court at 90cente per .Ydt The awarding of the Miami Street contract defered untill June 15th. 1910,the pavement ✓ The Miamit and Fisher Street Water Connections dofttract defered untill June 15th. 1910 Hoban & Roach were awaded the paving contract for Fisher Street with Nelsonville Block at $1.62 per. Sqo-td. / Harry N. Barnes was awarded the.contract for Osborn Street and Millers Court pavement. with Nelsonville Block @ # 1.63 per Sq.Yd. Ewing A.venueCurbeand Grade improvement Resolution No.602 defered untill June 17th.1910 ''.Engineer filed Assessment Roll and Final Estimate for A.gpholt Pavement on LaPorte Avenue from Oak Street to Michigan Avenue under Improvement Resolution NO.599. Resolved,that notices as to the amuunts of assessments be published for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times,commencing on the 29th. day of June 1910 stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amounts of such assessments at its office in t the City Hall,en the Sth. day of July 1910at 7-15 P.M. Resolved further,that the entire work done under the above contracts be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 29th. of June 1910 in the South Bend Daily Times,stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the Sth. day of July 1910 at 7-15 P.M. Engineer filed assessment Roll and Final Estimates for Aspholt Pavement on Howard Avenue from LaPorte to Michigan Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.606. Resolved,that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times,commencing.on the 29th. day of June 1910 stating triat this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 9th. day of July 1910 at 7-15 P.M. Resolved further,that the entire work under the above contract be accepted and approved and the Final Estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 29th. day of June 1910,in the -South Bend Daily Times,stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the gth. day of July 1910 at 7-15 P.M. Mr, Niedbalski absent Curb and Walk Improvement on North La,Fayette,Street Resolution NO.29 defered untill June 17th.1910 ,/Pipe Sewer on East Madison Street Improvement Resolution No.2S.defered untill June 14th. 1910 All action on Improvement Resolution No.27 Walks on Fuerbringer Street recirided. Hearing given on Declaratory Resolution No.26. for a Pipe Sewer on,Milton Avenue from Michigan -Street to Witwer Avenue. In the above matter no remonstretors appeared and no remonstrances were filed Therefore be it Resolved that the Board find in each and every case in said improvementalthat the benefitsto the property,an6 to the City of South Bend are equil to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all things ratified confirmed and approved. Be itI Resolved that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the 15th. of June and on 22th. of June 1910 to the effect that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said Improvement up to 10 A.M. on the 6th. day of July 1910. The Board reserves the right to reject any and -all bids. Tn the matter of the Condemnation Resolution WO.1 for the opening of Catalpa _ J Avenue from the First .Alley North of Leon Court to Prairie Avenue,it is held the benefits are Two-. Hundred and Twenty Dollars.and the damages are Two Hundr Dollars. The Board finds that none of the real estate mentioned in the Assessment Roll herein is especilly damaged and the said Roll is hereby adppted. •It is further -ordered that notice of such awards of damages and assessments of benefits be served by the Police Department according to the law and that a hearing be had on the lst. day of July 1910 at 7-15 P.M. for the purpose of hearing or receiving objections from any person or persons interested or affected. by said matter. J ' Hearing given on Condemnation. Resolution No.l. for the purpose of opening and extending Catalpa Avenue from the firer, Alley North of Leoll. Court to Prairie Avenue. In the above matter J.D. Oliver Trustee for J€mer, Oliver Estate remonstrated by ."ilin�r, a remonstrance; all re -no nstrrune es overruled and thereupon.being fully advised in the matter the Board takes final Faction an said resolution,aonfirming without modifioat on,all former action token on the game.
