8-Year-Old Best Selling Author to
Visit South Bend
South Bend, Indiana – City Clerk, Dawn Jones, and the South Bend Common Council
are hosting a young, best-selling author, Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 4:00 –
6:00 p.m. at the Charles Martin Youth Center at 803 Lincolnway West, South Bend,
Indiana 46616.
The Common Council and City Clerk will be distributing books to children in
attendance. In addition, Nicholas Buamah will be conducting a book signing.
Buamah, a native of Snellville, Georgia is a third grader and best-selling author of his
picture book, “Kayla and Kyle The Walking Dictionaries: Election Day”. The book tells
the story of twins running for class president and the debate they hold to prove to
their classmates as to why they are worthy candidates. Both dictionaries advocate
for their qualifications while using some advanced vocabularies in their duel.
Kayla and Kyle is a No. 1 best seller on Amazon and has been added to the Library of
Congress catalog.
Nicholas has since started a non-profit organization called, Books Without Borders,
where he donates books to children in underprivileged communities. In addition to
creating an app designed to help children learn to love to read.
Nicholas’ mother, Danielle, is a South Bend native.
