AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
APPROPRIATING $39,133.00
FROM THE E.M.S. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND,
AND APPROPRIATING $56,667
FROM THE LIABILITY SELF INSURANCE FUND
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana has
determined that it is in the best interest of the City of South
Bend and the health and safety of South Bend Firefighters that
certain appropriations be made to fund the purchase of
communication headsets for use in front line fire apparatus and by
the tactical rescue team. The communication headsets will allow
direct and improved communication between a unit and station by
reducing such environmental interference to communication as the
sounding of vehicle alarms.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The following sum is hereby appropriated and
ordered set apart from and within the indicated funds of the City
of South Bend:

I am attaching for filing, the above - referenced ordinance which appropriates a total of
$95,800 to fund the acquisition of communication headsets for use in front line fire apparatus and
by the tactical rescue team. The communication headsets will allow direct and improved
communication between a unit and station by reducing such environmental interference to
communication as the sounding of vehicle alarms.
