Petition received and read as follows,

onLeland Aveneu,on Vie tract of landlying between said Leland. Aveneu
and the Saint Joseph. River in the third Plr,,t of Shatterly Plaee,by striking
out the words(City of South Bend);so that we can sign a waiver and avail
oursselves of the ten year plan of paying the assessments for said improvement,
Resolved, that the foregoing petition be allowed with the following aggreement
for said improvement . attached.. to the waiver.
It is expressly agreed by and between the City of South Bend, Indiana and the
prat -or parties signing this waiver that the aceptance of this waiver by the
City of South Bend, indiand shall in no way change or nodify the title or
ownership of the property so assessed.

Resolved, that the Assistant Engineers, W. E. Graves mid F. A. Anderson salaries
be made $4.50 per day. The Engineers Clerk $3.50 per day. Salaries to begin
January lst, 1910.
Resolved that the following Rules pertaining to the collection of Garbage be approved
and 5oo cards ordered printed and given to citizens.
#I Garbage collectors will be required to collect the kitchen garbage from private
.private resistances only. Saloons,Hotels, etc. must provide for the removalof
the garbage from their premises.
#2 All kitchen garbage should be placed in suitable vessels(preferable constructed
of wood and lined with galvanized iron) not to exceed ten gallons capacity,
and provided with a covering to keep out rain and.snow.
.#3 All garbage must be drained before being put in vessels. If tin cans,broken
dishes, or any other like matterials found among the kitchen garbage,.the
collectors must refuse.to take it, and it must be removed by tenants of the premises.
.#4 All garbage must be kept in an alley ,or if kept in side of fence or barn,must be
easily accessiable to collectors from the alley. The collectors will not be-,
required to carry the garbage,nor to go up stirs nor into basements for garbage.
#5 During freezing weather all garbage should be drained and wrapped in paper,and
placed in garbage cans,in order that.it may be removed therefrom without
difficulty, and without injury ng the can.
#6 Complaints for dereliction of duty on the part of garbage collectors are to be
filed in the off ace of the Board of Public Works.
