December 7th.. 1909.
The Board met in regular session at 10:00 A. M. All members present.
Bids opened and referred to Engineer for tabulation for -the Eddy Street Asphalt
Macadam, under Improvement Resolution No. 627.
Contract awarded to Henry De Vos for the North Eddy Street Pipe Server.
Hearing on Assessment Roll for Lealand- and Hudson Ave. Tarvia. Macadam pavement
under Improvement Resolution No. 592 was deferred until December loth., 1909 at 10:00 A. M.
O'Shea end Shea were given an extension of time to Sept lst 1910 to finish the
Meade? Huron and Olive Street Trunk Sewer, under Improvement Resolution No. 551.,
Engineer Peed assessment Rolls and final estimates for Grading of Howard Street
grom Notre Dane Street to Eddy Street. Walk & Curb on Broadway from Fellows Street to
Miami Street. Pipe Sewer on Wayne Street front Franklin Street to Taylor Street. Cement Curb
on Division Street Prop Main .Street to C. I, & S. R. R. Cement Walk on South Michigan Street
from Wayne Street to Division Street. Cement Walk on Napier Street from Walnut, Street to
Cherry Street. Grade Curb and Walk on 5th Street from Orange Street to Linden Ave. All under
Improvement Resolutions Nos. 557, 5952 5982 603, 6122 6132 616 respectively.
Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six con-
secutive days in the South Bend Daily Times, commencing on the 9th., day of December 1909,
stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office
in the City Hall on the 17th day of December 1909, at 10:00 A. M.
Resolved Further, that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted
and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall be pub-
lished on the 8th day of December, 1909 in the South fiend Daily Times, stating that this
Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on
the 17th day of.December 1909, at 10:00 A. M.
Proposition of the Studebaker Bros Mfg. Co. for the replacing of the street
sweepers was accepted.
Petition filed by the Main Street property owners asking the Board to revoke the
permit of H. G. Christman & Co. for closing Fain Street during the construction of the J. 11.
Studebaker Building.
Set for hearing; Dec. Sth 1909 at 10:00 A. M. H. G. Christman and J. M.Stude-aker
to appear before the Board at said time.

To the Board of Public Works,
of the City of South Bend, Ind.
Your petitioner, Indiena & Michigan Electric Company, submits to your Board that
by resolution of the Common Council passed and approved. November 22, 1909, it -l-;was provided
that certain territory should be designated by the Board of Public Works and the Common
Council, in which under ground construction of wires for the.transmission of electricity
for light, heat and power should be installed.

said construction &nd submits to this Bloard an ordinance to be presented to said Council
together with blue print showing territory in which said under ground is to be constructed
the first year.
Therefore petitioner prays that your Board approve said proposed ordinance and de
signate said territory described therein as the territory in which under ground is to be
constructed the first year.
