To the Honorable Board of Public Works of the C.i$7 of South Bend.
The Grand Trunk Western Ry. Co. respectfully asks your permission to erect.&
temporary bridge & lay a side track across St. Louis Street & to the East end of the Ares-
ent bridge for use in unloading materials & machinery & delivering same to the new bridge
In as much as this comp any must continue the use of the present bridge until the north part
of the new bridge is completed it will be necessary to provide facilities outside of it
present main track for delivery &-unloading of such materials as there is no other track
1ch can be used for that purpose. -

Whereas under date of Aug. 292 1909 the National Humane alliance formally offedd
to the city an animal drinking fountain upon certain terns,and conditions which are as
follows to -wit:
That the City of South Bend will take the Fountain from the car and place it
�- upon a good foundation at the intersection of Michigan and Grand View Aves, at least 25
:feet from any curb, Street car rail or cross walk, put in good water connections, (plum -
bins, etc.) and guarantee good continuous water supply and proper permanent care to said
fountain.
Now therefore the Board. of Public Works of the City of .South Bend, having Juris-
diction over the streets, parks and public places of said city do hereby accept said offer
and agree to the performance by said city of all the Said conditions. '
