Gentlemen; - My Assistant Mr. Graves laid out the lines of Calvert Street across the Vand- alia Tracks for the planking & opening of said street and the westerly endof the plank- ing is about 7 feet North of the center lines, in other words the planking is not parallel to the Street lines. The Vandalia Company do not of course wish to change the planking now but will do so at the time New planking is required or a change of tracks is made & would like a note of this matter recorded sq,they will not be compelled immediately to change their tracks & I recommend such order made. Yours truly, A. J. Hammond. City Engr. Approved June l9th. , 1909 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS, By W. A. McINERNY, President. -Board of Public Works, South Bend, Ind., June, 17, 1909. South Bend, Indian€. Gentlemen: - At the suggestion°of your president, I submit herewith a cut'of the pole which we originally proposes to use for the boulevard lighting in beeper Park, with a 32 c. p. lamp, a price on which was rmede you of $20.00 and which we have been instructed to erect. After going over the matter with the Cutter Electric Company they have made a very attractive price on a. much better pole, with which wrerare in a position to install a 48 c. p. lamp for the additional sum of $2.00 per year, making the total cost $22.00. We believe that this will give a much more artistic effect and considerable more light and think that it is worth even more than the additional cost, and if it meets with your appro- val, we would kindly ask you'to revise your order. Yours truly, F. A. Bryan, GENERAL MkNAGER. Amended proposition accepted. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. BY W. A. HcINerny, President. 6/19/09. PRESIDENT.
