IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 552. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and. terminal points as follows: Con— struction of a Tarviated Macadam pavement of Leland avenue from the end of the present brick pavement at lot 67, Third Plat of Shetterly Place, to the north side of Angella street at the bridge, and including Hudson avenue southwesterly to portage Aveneue. Said improvement shall be known and designated as SHE LELAND AND HUDSON AVENUE TARVIATED MACADAM PAVE14FyNT, and shall be constructed accoRding to the plans and specifi— cations prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the Sth day of May and on the 15th day of May 1909, in the South Bend Daily Times. This board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 25th day of May 1909, at 10:00 A. M. A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the Contractor in payment for such work where the property owner sighes waiver required, as according to law. Which said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of Six per cent. per annun, payable as provided by law. Adopted this 7th day of May 1909. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS: W. A. McInerny, Pres. Madison to Marion street; William street from Washington street to South street; Vistula Avenue from Washington street to South street; South street from the alley east of Columbia street to Taylor street; St Joseph Street from Washington street to Division street; Scott street from Washington street to L. S. $1 M. S. R. R.; Lafayette street from Navarre street to Bronson street; Marion street from Lot E. 1/2 of lot 51 Henrick and Grants Addition to Leland Ave. running south; Madison street from lot 44 Henrick and Grants Add. to Marion street. Monroe street from Fellows street to Chapin street. Under Improvement Resolutions Nos. 522, 523, 525, 526, 527, 525, 5302 5312 5322 5342 535, 536, 5379 5392 5429 5469 544 respectively. The Board having the matter under consideration, it is decided that from the fact that nearly all of the Brick walks have been.replaced with cement walks in the above named district, it is deemed advisable to rescind all action under the above Resolution and proceed with individual post card notices to property owners having poor side walks. A coiTmunication was received from the L. S. be M. S. Ry. Co. asking permission to detour two of the sidetracks crossing Lafayette street, shifting one track about 4 feet south and th-e other about the width of its self. Ind. and Lich. Elect. Co. notified to turn on Park lights. President.
