The -Board met in regular session'.at 10 A. M. Mr Papczynski absent-.
Plat of Werwinski's 2nd Sub -Division filed and approved.
Remonstrance filed by Samuel Demler et. al. against the proposed Calvert street,
Grade, Curb & Walk Improvement from Leer street west 1 1/2 blocks.
The Sanitary Felting & Mattress Company by August Nelson, having applied for
permission to close Hydraulic avenue in order to repair' a flume crossing the same
and it appearing that such action is necessary, permission is hereby given to
temporarily close -the street, the same to be protected by barricades and lights.
Contractor Bond of Robert Melber filed and approved.
SPECIAL SESSION TUESDAY EVENING AUGUST 4TH, 1908, AT, 7:15.
The Board met in Special session at 7:15 P. M. All members present.
Hearing on Declaratory Resolutions for Cement sidewalks on the following
streets was deferred until_ September 1st, 1905, at 7:15 P.M:
Franklin street from Wayne street to South street; Taylor street from Marion
street to Railroad street; Division street from 1st alley west of.Main street to
Chapin street; Bronson street from Michigan street to Carroll street; Columbia
'street from Mayne street to Bronson street; Carroll street from Vistula avenue to
Dronson street; Chapin street from Jefferson street to Dunn street; Colfax avenue
in front of lot 4 Cobb's sub..and in front of lot S in Dunbar's Sub; Rayne street
from Chapin street toCarroll street; hood street from Madison street to Marion street;
William street from Washington street to South street; Washington street from
Lafayette street to Ist alley east; Vistula avenue from Washington street to South
street;`South street from 1st alley east of Columbia street to Taylor street; St.
Joseph street from Washington street to Division street; Scott street from Washington
street to L. S. & . M. S.R. R. LaSalle avenue from Michigan street to alley west of
Scott street; Lafayette street from Bronson street to Navarre street, Jefferson
street from Chapin street to Vistula avenue; Michigan avenue from 2nd alley west of
LaSalle avenue to Scott street; Marion street from east 1/2 of lot 51 Henrick & Grant
add to Leland avenue; Michigan street from Wayne street to 1st alley north of LaSalle
avenue; Monroe street from Fellows street to Chapin street; Main street from Marion
street to Bronson street; Madison street from lot 44 Henrick& Grant's additon
to Marion street. All under Improvement Resolutions Nos. 522< 523, 524, 5251, 5261,
527, 5252 5292 5302 531, 532, 5339 534, 535, 536, 537, 5359 539, 540, 541 5422
5430 544, 545 & 546 respectively.
Hearing on Assessment Rollsand final estimates for Grading on St. Peter
street from Cedar street to Sorin street and for Brick Pavement on Ford street from
Scott street to Chapin street under Improvement Resolutions Nos. 551 & 494
respectively, was deferred until Friday August 7th, 190t5, at 10 A. M.

Hearing given on -Declaratory Resolution for Grade, Curb h Walk on May street
from Broadway to Vistula avenue, under Improvement'Resolution No. 564.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were Piled.
The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits
to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said
improvements and the same is hereby in all.things ratified. confirmed and approved.,.
Engineer filed estimated cost of May street
Grade, Curb & Walk as follows ........ $543.00
Be it resolved that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the 6th
day of August and on the 13th day of August, 1908, to the effect that this Board will
receive bids for said improvements up to 10 ao mo on the lst day -of September, 190E52
The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
Hearing given on Assessment Rolls and final estimates for Grade, Curb & Walk
on St. Peter street from Corby street to Napoleon street and for Brick Pavement on
Alley south of Jefferson street from Lafayette.street to William street, under
Improvement Resolutions Nos. 495 & 552 respectively.
No remonstrators appearedandno remonstrances were filed. The Board.therefore
find that the property assessed in said roils filed July 21, 1909, is benefitted in the
amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board further find that the
a^sessment rolls filed July 21st, 19CO, and the final estimate allowed July 21st,
1906, should be and the same Are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
