HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/14/1908 Board of Public Works Minutes18 1905. The Board met in regular session at 10,A. M. Mr. Mclnerny absent. Hearing given on Vacation Resolution Na. 53 for the vacation of the lst alley east of Main street from Tutt street ,Aar 1/2 block. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore declare the above described property in all things vacated. The. Bogard find that the property of Gottfried Schinke, Emil Schinke, Isaac Farneman and Louisa Lamb is benefitted in the amount of $5.00 each. The property of Gottfried Schinke, Emil Schinke, Isaac Farneman and Louisa Lamb is therefore assessed $20.00, to be proportioned equally, each being a -sensed $5.00. Now oomes Gottfried Schinke, Emil Schinke, Isaac Farneman and Louisa Lamb and waive all notice of assessment under Vacation Resolution No. 53 and pay into the treasury of the City of South Bend the sum of $5.00 each or $20.00 in all. Petition filed by Elmer D. Ray et. al. for Grade, Curb & Walk on Calvert street from Leer street 1 1/2 blocks west. Referred to Engineer for specifications. Contractor Bond of Otto F. Beyer filed and approved. Engineer reported grade on alley west of Michigan street from Tutt to Bronson and alley west of Franklin street. Same approved. The Barber Asphalt Paving Company were notified to make the final repairs on the South Lafayette street Pavement from Washington street to Sample street. Light ordered at the corner of the lst angle of Leland avenue north of Portage ave. Bids were opened for the rapairing of the Central and No. S Fire stations. Bids were opened and contract awarded to Thomas Williams for Water Connections on Wood street. Bids were opened and referred to the Engineer for tabulation for the following improvements: PrairiP::avenue lst alley west of Lafayette Wood street lst alley west of Franklin East Wayne street Miller court Diamond avenue Fisher street Baker street Carroll street. East Division street. Trunk Sewer Brick Pavement Do. Do. Pipe Sewer Do. Do. Do. Grade, Curb & Walk Do. Grading. 186 . Tuesday July lith, 1909. 0 IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 564. Resolved by the - Board of Public -Works of the City of- South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: Grade, Curb & Walk on May street from Vistula avenue to Broadway. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE MAY STREET GRADE CURB &,WALK IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 15th day of July and on the 22nd day of July 190F, in the South Bend Daily Times. This Boardwill give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 4th day of August', 1905, at 7:15 P. M. A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the Contractor in payment for such work where the property owner signs waiver required as according to law. .Adopted this 14th day of July, 1905. Hearing given on Assessment Rolls and final estimates for Grade, Curb & Walk on Poland street from Harris street to the C. I. & S. R. R; Anthony street from Bertrand street to the alley north of Longley avenue; Lindner street from Michigan avenue to LaPorte avenue; Blaine avenue from Lederers addition to LaPorte avenue, Brick Sewer on East Madison street from Notre Dame street to Frances street, Pipe Sewer on LaPorte avenue from Wilber street to Euclid avenue and on Eddy street from Campau street to LaSalle avenue. All under Improvement Resolutions Nos. 493, 4941, 4961, 497, 5057 517 & 519 respectively. No remonstrators appeared find that the property assessed in the amount of assessments as the assessment rolls filed June June 23rd, 1908, should be and and approved. and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore in said rolls filed June 23rd, 190F, is benePitted shown on said rolls, and the Board further find that 23rd, 1908, and the final est_mates allowed the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed �c�9f1v %Gill` Acting President.
