Tuesday April 7th, 1909.
The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present.
Contractor Bond of Alex M. Bukowski filed and approved.
The following proposition of Louis A. Hickey was accepted:
"I will put in enameled wainscoting in apparatus room of No. Ten hose
house, using brick as selected, 4'-6" high, moulded cap course, for the sure of One
Hundred and twenty '($120.00) Dollars."

Petition filed by A. Zubowicz et. al. for pipe sewer onrisher street from alley
east of Union street to Webster street. Referred to the Engineer for specifications.
Petition filed by the Chicago, South Bend & Northern Indiana Railway Company
for the vacation of certain alleys in Beck's 1st and 2nd additions. Referred to the
Engineer.
Petition filed for Grade, Curb h Walk on Baker street from the alley west of
Birdsell street to east end of Baker street. Referred to the Engineer for
specifications.
Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for grade, curb 41 walk on St. Peter
street, under Improvement Resolution No. 495. Bids to be received up to 10 a. m.
on the 21st day of April 1909,
FTearing on Improvement Resolution No. 474 for Grade, Curb &Walk on Dubail ave
from Dale street to Bowman.Creek and on Assessment rolls for Grade, Curb h Talk
On Chapin street from Indiana avenue to alley North of Leon Court ( Improvement
Resolution No. 492) Grade, Curb & Walk on Cedar street from Frances street to
Arthur street (Improvement Resolution No. 490) was deferred until 7:15 P. M.
on April 7th, 1909-
Hearing on Declaratory Resolution for Brick Pavement on Bridge street under
Improvement Resolution No. 441 was deferred until June 2nd, 1909, at 10 A. M.
Hearing on Declaratory Resolution for Asphalt pavement on LaPorte avenue from
Washington street to Colfax avenue was deferred until June 30th, 19092 at 10 A.M.
The following Contractors were granted an extension of 30 days inwhich to put
in the following cement sidewalks:
W. H. Pries, 314 S. Scott street. (Defrees property)
Thos M. Bauer S. E. Corner of Division street & Scott street
(both streets fin front of Bussee property)

VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 52.
Resolved by the Board of Public Yorks of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That
't is desirable to vacate the following:
Beginning at a point where the south line of East Sample street intersects with
the westerly line of Angle street, running thence in south-easterly direction along
the front of lots 526 & 7 of Wenger & Kreighbaums Addition, said line being identical
with the westerly line of said Angle street, to the point where the west line of Rush
street intersects westerly line of said Angle street, running thence north along the said
west line of Rush street to the point where said line intersects the westerly line of
Right of Way of Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Ry. Co. running thence -northwesterly along
the westerly line of said right of way, which line is i-dAntical with the easterly line
of Angle street to the point where said line intersects with the south line of East
Sample street, running thence west to the point of beginning.

Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 9th day of April and on the
l6th day of April 1909, in the South Bend DailyTimes.
This Board, at its 'office in the City Hall on the 20th day of April 1908', at 10
A. M., will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected
by these proceedings.
Adopted this 7th day of April, 1908.
