The Commission unanimously approved the minutes. of the aA meetings of
January '3?, 1967, upon the motion by Mr. Kompar, seconded by Mr. Chenney.

Commission voted to approve Resoltuion 159, subject to the

This resolution authorizes.the execution of the second

amendatory contract
for the Chapin Street Troject, R -29, which in fact
is the acceptance
of the contract recently submitted, and is now to
become the new
contract for this Project.. This new contract °is.in -
creased to provide
primarily for relocation adjustment payments.

soil borings and analysis at a cost of $4,100, and the staff suggested
at least one additional proposal. The - engineers also have analyzed the
sewerage system, and reports that to separate the storm and sanitary
sewers it would cost at this time approximately $330,000.
d. Rehabilitation "before and after" Photographe, LaSalle Park,R- 57_._REHABILITATION
It is necessary for the staff to keep good records of the inside and PHOTOGRAPHS,
outside building conditions, and since the staff if not equipped to LASALLE PARK,
complete this work, proposals have been solicited and received for R -57
50 buildings, 2 inside photos and 1 outside photo. To date, -the propo-
sals range from $450 to $300. The staff will akk for Commission
action on this matter at a later date.
e. Fires, LaSalle Park, R -5,7. The staff has been disturbed FIRES, LASALLE
because of the number of fires in the LaSalle Park Project area. PARK R -57
Therefore, letters have been sent to all people who have not yet sold
their property to the.Redevelopment Department, notifying them that
Chief McHenry of the South Bend Fire Department, and the-Redevelopment
Department, will advise the residents on what precautiors could be
taken to avoid fires. This letter was sent out for the protection
of the residents, and also to explain that payment to owners might
be cut down beft8e of fire damage.
f. Parcels for Condemnation, LaSalle Park,R -57. The staff has PARCELS FOR POS-
prepared a list of 10 parcels for condemnation, and must now consult SIBLE CONDEMNA-LL
with legal counsel before coming to the Commission for action. These eT0N, LASALLE
