APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the special meeting of December 1, 1966, upon the motion by Mr. Koczan, seconded by Mr. Helmen. 3. The staff recommended issuance of a Certificate of Completion to Howard and Bonnie Harris, developers of Parcels 7,89 and 9, in the (CERTIFICATE Sample St eet Project, R -7, because the terms of the sale of land (OF COMPLETION have been fully complied with: The Commission_ approved the motion (FOR DEVELOPERS by Mr. Ko par, seconded by Mr. Koczan, that the Certificate of (OF PARCELS 7,8,9 Completion be executed and the "good faith" deposit in.the amount (Sample St., R -7 of $1,524:16 be returned to the developers. b. Because of the shortage of federal funds, the Chicago RESOLUTION 157, DHUD offi a has asked the South Bend Redevelopment Commission to INDUSTRIAL EX - take an immediate stand as to whether or -not to carry out the PANSION PROJECT. Industrial Expansion Project, Indiana R -56. Therefore, the Comm- R -56 ission hereby adopted Resolution 157, which authorizes filing of applicati n for the Loan and Grant for Indiana Project R -56, upon the motio# by Mr. Koczan, seconded by Mr. Helmen. C. It's that time of year for the Redevelopment Commission NEXT MEETING to be sworn in for another term, and to organize. The Commission unanimously agreed, in accordance with the By- Laws -of the Redevel- opment Commission, that the next meeting will be a special meeting at 3:00 P M., January 3,1967, for (1) the swearing in of the 5 Commissio ers, (2) the Annual Organization Meeting, and (3) the special m eting to conduct regular and all business of the Commissio . Notices will be sent to this effect. 5. PROOESS REPORTS - a. Relocation Report, LaSalle Park, R -57. As an explanation RELOCATION of the ere ocation progress report, once the Redevelopment Depart REPORT, ment has icquired a property, the family becomes part of the LASALLE PARK, "Workload" for the Relocation staff. The staff reported that of R -57 61 family s and ,3 individuals, 8 families have purchased homes; 3 families have rented private accommodations; 10 families have relocated -themselves; 8 families have relocated in Public Housing quarters; 7 families have moved without notifying the staff, and the staff is obligated to find their whereabouts. Of the 3 indivi- duals, 2 ave already been relocated. The staff reports that the auditors have (AUDIT written 8 findings, but it is felt that these were minor findings (FINDINGS such as the fire damaged building in the Chapin Project cited last year, and payments'of 100% overhead and profit to engineering consultants as provided in executed and existing contracts. The staff is preparing answers to these findings which might resolve all questions. f. Eviction Notices, LaSalle Park, R -57. The staff has had the (EVICTION unpleasant task of serving eviction notices on 3 residents in LaSalle (NOTICES Park up to this time. These three parties have refused to pay rent ( LASALLE, and are a least two months in arrears. It is important for the staff (R -57 not to establish precedence in allowing rent payment delinquency amoung thzise who can afford to pay.
