Mrs. Brodie, Secretary of LaSalle Park District Council, letter of October 25, 1966, requests copy of 'Original Plan" and "Relocation. Plan" for LaSalle Park. Public records pertaining to any urban renewal project are available at the office, but it would be. too expensive to. reproduce a complete set with details subject.to change. All reports will be made available to the LaSalle Park District Council with some.: reporduction by the Department.o.f especially pertinent data. b. Chicago DHUD letter of October 31., 1966, asks us to re- explain the Commissioners procedure for selection of LaSalle Park acquisition appraisers. An explanation had been submitted to Chicago on June 14, 1966, and was accepted as satisfactory by previous DHUD letter. The Commissioners concurred that a reply be sent reminding DHUD the Redevelopment Department selected from a group of 8 or-9 people, among whom-William Morris was given full consideration. 5. Such Workshop is being held on December 5 -6, 1966, in Kansas.City, Missouri. Upon - recommendati n by the staff, the Commission voted to send three staff employees - harles Maxwell, Louis,Glass, and either Glenn Barbe or Jan Chong -with expenses paid 'to the Kansas City Workshop, primarily because this office has never had the opportunity to attend such a Workshop. Options approved today are for parcels 43-13, 44 -10, 27 -14, 40 -10, 46 -15 and 9 -16. Tie Commission approved the motion by Mr. Louis, seconded by Mr. Koc an, that the Redevelopment Commission be listed as a participan in the Greater South Bend Housing Conference to be held at Notre Dime, November 29, 1966. J. A meeting is being held this evening by the LaSalle Park District Council, and Mr. Chong plans to attend even though not invited. rhese people look to Tom Brademas, who has been invited to attend, as representing the Redevelopment Commission, and a greater distinction needs to be made. The staff needs to take a far greater role in terms of leadership, and more positive in our approach to the problems of urban renewal. Mr. Chong plans to encourage these residents to hold regularly scheduled meetings, instead of so many scattered meetings. When the residents begin to see the work actually being accomplished, then the Commission feels a better relationship will exist. In this light, the city has paved 5' of one side of Washington Street to create temporary sidewalks, which has definitely created a feeling of confidence among Project residents for City efforts. The next m eting of the Redevelopment Commission will be a special meeting at 3:00 p. m., November 17, 1966, in the office of the Redevelopm nt Department. 7.
