Bids received and opened for Pavement on Garfield Court Under Improvement Resolution
No. 190. in the City of South Bend, Indiana. The same were referred to the City
Civil Engineer for:tabluation to be reported back March 25th. 1913 at 10:00 A.M.
The Board awarded Mr. John Stickley of 726 Allep Street a rebate of Six (6.00)
Dollars for defective work on per tap.
The Clerk was ordered to notify Henry De Vos & Company of the defective tap at 726
AIV,%Street, and to collect Six ( 6.00)Dollars, the amount of the rebate allowed
John Stickley on same.
The Engineer was instructed to . make arrangments for the construction of a sewer
tap on Lot 13 Vail's Addition Block # 9 The same to be placed at the City's
expense.

LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 241.
RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, County
of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, intended and
adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and not
intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drainst be and the same is
hereby ordered in and along QUIMBY STREET as follows tom t: -
Beginning at the inter-
section of Eddy.Street and Quimby Street, thence West along the center line of said
Quimby Street to a point 50 feet East of the East line of Francis Street, together with
the houseconnections to the curb line along the line of said improvement. and such
sewer,, with all its appurtenances shall be constructed in accordance with the profile
and specifications now on file in the office of the Department of Public Works of said
City. The cost of said improvement shall be apportioned against and paid by. the pro-
perty. holders whose property abuts thereon, and upon the City of South Bend if the City
is benefited by said improvement, all according to the method and manner provided for
in Act of the General Assemble of the State of Indiana, entitled "An Act Concerning
_luniappal Corporations," approved March 6,1905. Assessments, if deferred, are to be
paid in ten equal annual installments , with interest at the rate of Six percent per
annum. A Bond or bonds shall be Issued to the contractor in payment for such work, un-
less the property owners pay said assessments before said bond or bonds are issued. Under
no circumstances shall the City of South Bend be or be held responsible for any sum or
sums due from said property owner or owners for said work, or for the collection of
same, or for the payment of any bond or bonds, certificate or certificates, issued to
said contractor in payment for such work, except for such moneys as shall have been
actually received by the City from the assesments for such improvement, or such moneys
as said City is by said above entitled Act required to pay. All proceedings had, and
work done in the making of said improvement, assessment of property, collections of
assessments and issuance of bonds therefor, shall be as provided for in said above en -
.titled Act.
Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 24th. day of
March and on the 31st. day of March 1913 in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will
give a rearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 25th. day of.
April 1913 at 7: 45 P.M.

GRADE .CURB AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 242.
Resolved by the Beard of Public Works, of the City of South Bend,
St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, That it is deemed necessary to improveTHAT
an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: —
That bids be received for the construction and repairing of Cement
Walks and Curbs on dUferent Streets in the City where the same has already been
partly constructed or is defective.
Allwork to be constructed or repaired in accordance with Standard
specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City*
All work to be done and assessments wade as provided in Section
1 of an Act -entitled "An Act concerning Municipal Corporations,approved 1909* in
accordance with the profile, details, drawings and specifications on file in the
office ofthe Department of the Board fff Public Works of said City; and such impeove-
ment is now ordered.
The cost of said improvement, including the cost of street and
alley intersections, shall be assessed upon the real estate abutting on said
VARIOUS STREETS all according to the method and manner provided for in an Act of the
General Assembly of the State of Indians,, entitled "An Act Concerning Municipal
Corporations," approved March 611905, and in accordance with and pursuant to the
provisions of all amendatory and supplemental acts thereto, passed -by the General
Assembly of the State of Indiana. Assessments, if deferred, are to be paid in ten
equal. annual installments, with interest at the rate of Six per cent per annum.
A bond or bonds shall be issued to the Contractor in payment of such work, unless

that this Board - ll receive .bids forsaid improvement up to 10:00 A.M. on the nth.
day of MAy,1913. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
