Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. Mr. Bastian absent.
The City CIVAI Engineer filed the estimated cost on the following Trunk sewers,.

Ther Board approved of the same.
Petition received and read by tbg Board for Grade, Curb and walk on St. Vincent Street
from Alexis Street to the first"st of forth Lawrence Street. The same was referred to
the City Civil Engineer.
In the matter of the Highway South�eF Sample Street, under condemnation resolution No.
.20. All action on the same was deferred until March 28th. 1913 at 10:00 A.M.
The Park Board being present as remonstrators.
✓ The Park -Board were also present in regard.to the easement assessments on the Borman
Creek Trunk Sewer through Krieghbaum Park, Ravina. Park and Studebaker Park, and it was
mutually agreed between the two Board's that the President of each Board be at the
next meeting of the Committe of the Whole of the Coomon Council to the advis—
ability of the Common Council making provisions by approproation tohe expenditures
necessary for the construction of this sewer.

In the matter of the assessments for easements purposes for the Bowman -Creek Trunk Sewer
effecting Bovmian Cemetery, the Board instructed tLhe City Engineer to divide the Assess—
ment roll and assess part not used for Cemetery purposes against the property.

Engineer filed assessment road and final estimate for Grade, curb and walk
on Eleventh Street from Mishawaka Avenue to Pleasant Street, under Improvement Resoluti
resolution No. 170. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments vbe published for six
consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times, commencing on the 24th. day of
February' 1913, stating that this Board will give shearing on the amount of such
assessments at its office in the City Mali on the 14th. day of March21913 at.7:45P.M.
Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted
and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shell
be published on the 24th. day of February 1913 in the South Bend Daily Times$ stating
that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the
City Hall on the 14th. day of March 1913 at 7:45P.M.
LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 227.
` Resolved by the Board of Public forks of the City of South Bend, County of
St. Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, intended and
adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and
not intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and the same
is, hereby 6ndered in and along BIRDSELL STREET FROM THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF FASSNACHT
AVENUE TO A POINT ABOUT 80 FEET NORTH OF LINDEN AVENUE as follows,to-wit:-
Beginning at
the manhole in the center of Birdsell Street and the first alley South of Fassnacht
Avenue thence south along the center of Birdsell Street to the second Alley South of
Fassnacht Avenue with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer, thence still south along the
center of Birdsell Street to a point about gO feet north of the north line of Linden
Avenue with a 10 inch vitrified pipe sewer. Together with the necessary Manholes,
Inlets and Mouse Connections to the. curb line along the line of said improvement, all
as shown on the plans and in accordance with the profiles, 'detail drawings and speci-
fications on Pile in the office -of the Department of Public Works of said City.
And such improvement is now ordered and said sewer, with 'all its appurtenances shall
be constructed in accordance with the profile and specifications now on file in the
Office of the Department of Publie forks of said City. The cost of said improvement
shall be apportioned against and paid by the property holders whose property abuts
thereon, and upon the City of South Bend if the City is benefited by said improvement,
all according to the method and manner provided for in Act of the General Assembly of
the State of Indiana, entitled *An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations,," approved
March 611905• Assessments, if deferred, are to be paid in ten equal annual installment
with interest at the rate. of Six per cent per annum. A bond or bonds shall be issued
to the contractor in payment for such work, unless the property owners pay said
assessments before said bond or bonds are issued. Under no circumstances shall the
City of South Bend be or be held responsible for any sum or sums due from said pro-
perty owner or owners for said work, or for the collection of same, or for the pay
ment of any bond or bonds, certificates or certificates, issued to said contractor in
psymeAt for such work, except for such moneys as shall have been actually received
by the City from the assessments for such improvement, or such moneys as said City
is by said above entitled Act required to pay. All proceedings had, and work done
in the making of said Ampr6veiaent, assessment of property, collections of assessments
and issuance of bonds therefor, shall be as provided for in said above entitled Act.
Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 25th* day of
February 1913 and on the 4th. daft .Mare141913 in the South Bend Daily Times. This
Board will give- a hearing on this resoles- at its office in the City Hall on the
llth. day of April 1913 at 7:45 P.M.

GRADE, CURB AND WALK IMPR09RAENT RESOLUTION NO. 228r.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,
St. .Joseph County, State of Indiana, That it is deemed necessary to improve,TENTH
STREET FROM MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO WALL STREET as follows: -
By Grading said Tenth Street
from Property line to property line, and the construction of Cement Sidewalk and Cement
Curb on both sides of said Street. All as shown on the plans, and in accordance with
the profiles, detail drawings and specifications on file in the Office of the Depart-
ment of Public Works of said City. And such improvement is now ordered in accordance
with the profile, details, drawings and specifications on file in the Office of the
Department of the Board of Public Works of said City; and such improvement is now
ordered.
The cost of said improvement, including the cost of street and
alley intersections, shall be assessed upon the real estate abutting on said TENTH.
STREET, all according to tale method and manner provided for in an Act of the General
Assembly of the State of Indiana, entitled "An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations,"
approved March 6,1905, and in accordance with and pursuant to the provisions of all
amendatory and supplemental acts thereto, passed by the General Assembly of the State of
Indiana. Assessments, if deferred,.are to be paid in tan equal annual installments, with
interest at the rate of Six per cent per annum. A bond or bonds shall be issued to the
contractor in payment of such work, unless the property owners pay said assessment before

Joseph County, State. of Indit�na, That it is deemed necessary to improve WALL STREET
FROM CLIFPORD COURT TO SIXTH STREET as follows:- to -wit: -
By grading said Street.,
from property line to property line, and the construction of Cement Sidewalks and
Cement curb on both sides of said Street where not already constructed. All as
shown on the plans, and in accordance *ith the profiles , detail drawings and speci-
fications on file in the office of tie Department of Public Works of said City.
And such improvement is now ordered. in accordance with the profile, details,

Public Works of said City; and such improvement is now ordered.
