Board met in regular session. at 10:00 A.M. All members present.
v/Bt s were receive(? and opened on Pipe Sewer on St. Louis Street to Madison Street
under Improvement Resolution No. 2070 The same �xias referred to the City Engineer for
tabulation to be reported back Tuesday November 5th.21912.
✓Bids received and opened for Grading and paving of Elwood Avenue from Portage Avenue
t c Wilbur Street, under Impro vement Resoluti on No. 206. Tne ;same was referredto the
City Engineer for tabulation., to be reported back November 5th.1912
v"Contrsactors bond signed by T. C. Barnes, approved by the BoarcA.
Hearing given on Assessrfient roll and final estimate for Grading on Alley Eatt of High
Street from Dayton Street to Milton Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No 140.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and remonstrances .were
filed.. The Board therefore t'ind that the property assessed in said rolls filed
Sept ember.25th. 1912 is benefited in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls,
and the Boc4rd further find that the assessment rolls filed September 25th. 1912 and the
final estimate allowed September 25th.1912 should be and the same are hereby in all
things ratified, confirmed and approved.
,i RESOLVED by the Board of Public 19ork.S of the City of South Bend, Indiana,, that, the City
Attorney be instructed to take legal aetion before the State Railroad Commission
of the State of Indiana, requiring the Vandali a Rai 1 ro ad and the Chic ago , South Bend &
Northern Indiana Railroad Company to make connection with each other,by switch, at some
suitable place within the City limits to the e-nd that freight under certain: restrictions
may be transferred thereon.

Stickleyt s property. I beg to report that I have examined the records a&Ld find -
DE Vos & e,. were the contractors and that they recived $600 for putting in th s tap
I also An.D That this offiCd was not asked to inspect this tap
when the plumbers had it dug up and, therefore am unable to say v4hether the tap was b
to high or not.
I find Messrs. Thelmer & Kestler took out a permit on Aug., 6th.
1912 for a new connects on at this locati on and that the new conne at i on. was run in on.
North side of the house while the old tap was made to be run in on south side of
house.
