REGULAR ANNUAL MEETING

II. APP OVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of the regular annual meeting of December 7, 1964, were read and
unanimously approved.
III. COMMUNICATIONS
a. Individual trustees have received the Urban League letter dated
December , 1965, which requested that the Redevelopment Trustees consider
seating a Negro Commissioner, and that a Community Renewal Program be
developed. Mrs. Curtis is to draft a letter from the Trustees to the
Urban League in which reasons are given why this request cannot be granted
at this tim , and state that a Community Renewal Program is already on
the way an was initiated before the receipt of the letter of October 29, 1965.
b, IV. rs. Curtis recommended that a letter be sent to the Commissioners
expressing the Trustees appreciation for their untiring efforts, for their
accomplishments in the year 1965, and to notify them of their reappointment.
IV. ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Mr. Hecka an nominated Dean J. Wilhelm, President; Byron W. Sheets,
Vice President; Mrs. Josephine M. Curtis, Secretary; for the officers
of the Redevelopment Trustees for the year 1966. Mr. Root seconded
the nomination and a unanimous ballot was cast.
V. APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS
The Board of Trustees .commended the Commissioners for the outstanding
performance they did in 1965, and recommended the reappointment of the

present Commissioners for 1966. The Trustees unanimously voted to
approve t he motion by Mr. Sheets, seconded by Mr. Root, that the present
Commissioners, ners, Donald A. Wiggins. ,,James G. Louis, Stephen E. Kompar,
Fred J. H lmen, and Frank G. Koczan, be reappointed for 1966.
Mrs. Curtis acknowledged the need of closer communications between the
Urban League, NAACP, and Department of Redevelopment, and suggested
an Intergroup Committee. Mr. Sheets explained that the newly organized
Sub-Committee on Minority Group Housing Problems, of the Mayor's
Citizens Advisory Committee, should be sufficient. The Mayor's Citizens
Advisory Committee has been functioning very well for about eight (8)
months now, and the new subcommittee will meet either before Christmas or
after the New Year. The Trustees were unanimous in acknowledging the
need and fe t this subcommittee would be sufficient.
During the Executive session,_ Mr. _.Chong explained the .Rehabilitation
Program upon the request of the Trustees.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
Upon the m tion of Mr. Heckaman, seconded by Mr. Sheets, the Trustees
voted to adj urn at 3:30 P.M.
