water connections on the following streets.
--Water connections on North Scott Street from Michigan Avenue Vo Portage Avenue, under
Improvement Resolution No. 145.
Meter Connections .on Division Street from Michigan Street to Chapin Street, under
Imprvvemexit Resolution No. 146.
Water Connections on Madison Street from East Race to Eddy Street, under Imp_rovement
Resolution No. 145.
,- "Ater Connections on Lafayette Street from Navarre Street to Foote Street, Under
Improvement Resolution No. 150.
water Connections on Portage Avenue from Viaduct to Alley North of Kinyon Street
under Improvement Resolution No. 152.
The Board approved of Bond No. 779331 signed by the American Surety Company of
New York and the South Bend Home Telephone Company of the City of South Bedd, Ind.

Gant lemon :- The Board of Public Works herewith presents its report for
the following Sewer, Gas and Water Connections,

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS:
On motion duly made and seconded, the following preamble and resolutions
were unanimously adopted:
WHEREAS. This Board did on the 1st. day of May 1912 deem it expedient
and of Public utility to permanently improve WAKEWA AVENUE between MICHIGAN STREET rand
LAFAYETTE STREET, by paving the roadway of the some, and did on said date pass and
adopt a resolution authorizing said permanent improvement, and
WHEREAS. The, City Engineer has prepared and filed vri.th this Board a re-
port showing the number and location, as well as the material to be used and the man-
ner of laying the sane, of, the service pipes, mains, conduits, laterals and connections
which are, or will be necessary to accomodate the abutting property owners kith gas,
water, heat, st eam or any other product for which any person, firm or corporation has
been granted a franchise for supplying the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana,

BE IT RESOLVED. That said report of said City Engineer be and is hereby,
adopted. ;
And be it farther Resolved, that it is contemplated by this Board to
improve Wakewa Avenue from Michigan Street to Lafayette S$rreet all in said City of
South Bend by Macadam pavement from curb line to curb line, Vdth Limeirtone Macadam,
nine inches in the center and six inches on the side. All as shown on plans in a
accordance with ,profiles, details, drawings and specifications on file in the
Office. of the Department of Public Works of said City which are hereby adopted, and
such improvements are now ordered, and that it is, and is hereby so declared,
necessary for the Northern Indiana Gans & Electric Company, which has, and operates
under, a _franchi se from said City to Supply gas to the Citizens of sand City,t o
provide and install mains, laterals., Gervice pipes and connections for gas in said
part of said street, of the description, location and number set forth in said
report of said City Engineer, which mains, service pipes and connections are here-
by declared necessary for the immediate thse of said Company in supplying gas to the
owners of property abmtting upon. said part of said street.
