Community Response to Synthetic Drugs
Monday, September 30, 2019
Charles Martin Youth Center
9:00 am - 11:00 am
802 Lincoln Way West
South Bend, IN, 46616
The new synthetic drugs that are making the rounds of drug-using markets are
some of the most destructive drugs available today. Older drugs such as heroin
and cocaine could destroy a person’s life causing a general deterioration of
quality of life or by overdose. Many of these new drugs can destroy a life by
triggering psychotic episodes of hallucinations, aggression, paranoia, suicidal
or impulses and homicidal tendencies.
In response to the community's call for action, the "Not in Our Community"
committee was formed in January 2017. The committee has focused
on prevention, education, community outreach, mental health/social providers
and law/code enforcement.
We invite you to join us on Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Charles Martin
Youth Center, 9:00 am - 11:00a.m., to hear from committee members,
representatives from Beacon Health Systems, social services professionals and
others who are directly dealing with this issue.
