While Octane Forklifts, Inc. was the lowest bidder, there is no local "Octane" dealer to administer the warranty on their product. Octane Forklifts, Inc. submitted two local forklift dealers as authorized warranty dealers but when I spoke with both companies, neither had heard of "Octane Forklifts, Inc." and therefore neither would provide warranty work on the forklift submitted in the bid. Without the support of a local dealer, the warranty appears to be invalid and renders the bid unresponsive. The cost of the vehicle is $31,846.00 with no alternates and will be funded with the proceeds from the 2019 Equipment Services Capital Lease Budget 224-0605-419-38.01 & 224-0605-419- 38.02.
