Mr. Ba.er.reported that on conferring with the Commissioners,LA SALLE
who have independently looked at the LaSalle Park Area, the PARK
members are of the firm conviction that something has to be PROJECT
done and that every step possible be taken to proceed with IND. R-41
that Eroject. The problem in the past has been that there
has been some difference between requirements of the Govern-
ment and the wishes of the people living in the area which
prevented a program. Since the Commission indicated that it
wants to proceed promptly with this project, they instructed
'Mr.—Sucher to contact HHFA immediately with view of getting
approval for a plan which will be acceptable to the people
in thE area and the Govern -ment. The Commission stated this
mattex should be given high priority and hopes that no delay
will be incurred in receiving the approval of the Government
and the cooperation of the people in the area. Mr. Sucher
—i
said he would try to get approval from the Federal Govern
ment n the basis of minimum clearance they will allola.
