Baer, LPA Counsel Mr. Howard Bellinger, Assistant Director OF MINUTES On mot on made by Mr. Koczan, seconded by Mr. Place and unani- mousl4re carried, the minutes of previous meeting dated July 11, 1963 approved and the following business was discussed: -1- II. On m mous ion made by Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr. Williams and unani -- carried, the Commission approved the following claims for t totaling $2,808.57z PROJECT EXPENDITURES ACCOUNT FUND - INDIANA R -7 Abstract Company of St. Joseph County, Inc. Abstract and Title Corp. of.South Bend. Frederick K. Baer REDEVELOPMENT REVOLVING FUND Payroll - July 16 to July 31, 1963 Sheehan Tire Service, Inc. URBAN REDEVELOPMENT FUND Henry Sucher Travel Expense Total 45.00 50.00 780.00 $875.00 1,919.15 4.00 Total $1,923.15 10.42 Grand Total $2,808.57 III. (ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION FOR CHAPIN STREET RELOCATION Mr. Sucher reported that he has been in touch with Mr. Robert Pollit , Executive Director of the Family & Children's Center regarding the possibility of contracting with the Family and Children's Center to do relocation work with the Chapin Street Project. The Commission suggested that Mr. Pollitt be invited to att nd the next Commission meeting to discuss this possibility furthe . IV. PROGRESS REPORT Mr. Howard Bellinger reported to the Commission his plans RESIGNA- to resign from his position as Assistant Director of the TION OF South 3end Redevelopment Department effective about H. BELL- August 15th, 1963. The Commission stated that it wished INGER to ack owledge the excellent job Mr. Bellinger has done with t e South Bend Redevelopment Department. -2- IV. PROGRESS REPORT - Continued It decided to ask Mr. T. Fitzgerald of the Regional CRP Offwa ic to come to South Bend to answer the many questions the C mmission has regarding the Community Renewal Program. Messrs. Morris, Bohannan and Brown explained to the Com- PUBLIC mission that the people in the Chapin Street Project Area RELATIONS - would like ;information about their project from official; CHAPIN ST. sources as to what is being done and what is to be done. IND. R -29 It was pointed out by Mr. Sucher and Mr. Helmen that the Commission will be glad to appear at meetings that are spons red by organizations representing the people; however, inasmuch as final approval has not yet been received from HHFA, Chicago, any attempt by this Department to give infor ation to the public might be misinterpreted as being official. Mr. S cher was advised by Mr. Louis to get three bids WEED on weed removal in the Sample Street Area, Indiana R -7; REMOVAL the c t limit to be $500.00. IND.
