INDIANA R -7. Whereas, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission has amined the Specifications and Contract Documents for the molition of buildings in the Sample Street Redevelopment ea - Project No. Indiana R -7, -3- V. VI. Whereas, same have received approval from the Urban enewal Administration, and Whereas, same have also been approved by the City ngineer; Therefore, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission irects the staff to place legal advertisements for bids n the South Bend Tribune and The Record, and also to lace a notice in the Construction Digest that bids re- eived for demolition work will be opened at 11 :00 a.m. .S.T. on the 16th day of March, 1961, at the office of he South Bend Redevelopment Commission, 129 West Colfax venue, South Bend, Indiana. ollowing a discussion, a motion approving the above resolu- ion was made by Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Helmen and nanimously carried. ►DART ERLY REPORT 'he Commissioners reviewed the Quarterly Report For Financial nd Budget Review (H -690) and the Balance Sheet.for the uarter ended December 31, 1960. in motion made by Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr. Williams nd unanimously carried, the Commission authorized the equired signatures and submission,of the financial reports o the Housing and Home Finance Agency, Chicago, Illinois. UISITION FOR RELOCATION GRANT PAYMENT he Commission reviewed the HHFA Form (H -692), which certifies hat the Commission has made disbursements for Relocation ayments pursuant to Section 106 (f) of the Housing Act of 949, as amended, in accordance with Contract No. Indiana R -7 (LG). n motion made by Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Helmen and nanimously carried, the Commission authoriz d th certifi- ation and submission of the Requisition Fo Grant ayment in the amount of $1,088.50 to the Urban Renewal dministration. -4- VII. RESS REPORT Commission was informed of a telegram received Mayor Bruggner from President John F. Kennedy arding the order for elimination of all delays ,cooperation by federal agencies with local horities to get construction under way on Urban ,ewa1 projects. LINDEN SCHOOL T e Commission authorized Mr. Sucher to visit the TRAVEL r gional office of the Urban Renewal Administration i Chicago for a progress report on the application o the Linden School Project. Commission also approved Mr. Sucher's request attend a meeting on February 9, of the Urban ,ewal Directors in the State of Indiana, for the pose of discussing legislation being drafted in State which are of vital concern to Urban Renewal. Mr. Louis reported a meeting of the Relocation Com- COMMITTEES m'ttee held on February 2, and informed the Commis s'on of the commendable job which the members are doing in soliciting assistance from churches and various organizations for contributions of furniture and/or money for the families. Also, canvassing in me City is being done to locate and inspect suitable r ntal units. M . Williams announced a meeting of the Planning Com - m'ttee to be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday Evening on y b..' 16 at the office of the Commission. Mrs. Eva Heck commenced employment with the Commis- sion on February 6, 1961 as an addition to the staff in the newly created position of Acquisition Clerk. Mrs. Heck will assist the Bookkeeper in Z d'scharging these additional duties and receive an a nual compensation of $3600. -5- PERSONNEL VII. PROGRESS REPORT (continued) It was reported that a contract for delivery of heating oil for units purchased by the Commission was awarded to the lowest of three bids received for the remainder of this heating season. As of January 31, 1961, a total of 124 Option Agreements have been signed by property owners in the Sample Street Redevelopment Project and approved by the Commission. Of the 124 Options, closings have been completed on 64 parcels.
