On motion made by. Mr. Koczan, seconded by Mr, Louis, and unani-
mously carried, the minutes of the meeting of October 6, 1960 were
approved as read and the following business was discussed;

The Commission reviewed the Option Agreements signed by property
owners in the Sample Street Project Area - Indiana R -7, Upon motion
duly made, seconded, and unanimously carried, the Commissioners
approved 23 Option Agreements; 12 -52, 9 -21, 2 -27, 4 -1, 12 -13, 8 -23,
6 -2, 1--131F 12 -23, 3 -11, 3 -1, 2 -26, 7 -10, 11 -3, 8-F15, 2 -23, 2 -5, 2 -29,

Upon motion made by Mr. Koczan, seconded by Mr. ,Place and unanimously
approved, the claims for payment totaling $231.03 were endorsed by the
Commission.

The Commission reviewed the claim to the Housing and Home Finance Agency
to reimburse HHFA for Federal Grants received during the Survey & Planning

The invited guests, Messrs. Pointer, Tolle, and Goshert, discussed the
problems of relocating the low- income families in the Sample Street Proj-
ect Area with the Commission.
It was reported by Mr. Pointer that 23 families in the project area were
presently on relief from Portage Township, and Mr. Tolle reported that
45 families from the project area were presently receiving relief from the
Department of Public. Welfare .

For the quarter ending September 30, 1960, the Commission reviewed the
two quarterly reports for the Project Execution Stage and the Balance Sheet
for submission to the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
Upon motion duly made, seconded, and unanimously carried, the Commis-
sion endorsed the Quarterly Report For Financial and Budget Review (H -690) ,
and approved submission of the Physical Progress Quarterly Retort (H -6000)
and the Balance Sheet.

Mr. Koczan, Chairman of the Demolition Committee, reported that a meeting
oft the Committee members was held on October 13, 1960. The demolition
work for 330 main buildings and approximately 200 out buildings will be pub-
licly advertised for bids. The Demolition Contract Specifications are now in
the process of being typed in a rough draft form for review and consideration
of a Committee at their next meeting. A date has not been set for the next

Mr. Sucher sought to clarify the reimbursement and allowance for use of
private cars by Staff and Commission members. The Commission adopted
a resolution on 10 -1 -59 which allows 8� a mile. The Commission recon-
firmed the allowance rate and the travel expenses which are to be paid on
actual expenditures. The mileage allowance does not include the payment
of *s for toll charges, parking, etc. The fees would be paid on the basis
of actual expenditures.
